California State Treasurer Fiona Ma is preparing a letter to Governor Gavin Newsom to ask him to back the proposal to relieve the small online sellers of past liabilities.  Assemblymember Autumn Burke and State Senator Mike McGuire (D-Healdsburg), who is the Chair of the Senate Governance and Finance Committee, are also joining Treasurer Ma’s effort.

We urge you to write a letter to Governor Newsom urging he take action.  Below is a link to a template letter that we have prepared.  All you have to do is put the template letter on your letterhead (plain text is fine if you don’t have letterhead) and fill out the highlighted areas (please remove the highlights).

Once you have finished your letter, please send a PDF copy of the letter on your letterhead (plain text is fine if you don’t have company letterhead) to Support@onlinemerchantsguild.organd we will ensure that it is delivered to Governor Newsom, his staff and Members of the California State Legislature.  You do not need to mail the letter yourself.  Also, the letters cannot be anonymous.

We encourage non-members to participate in this letter writing campaign.  That said, if you are not yet an OMG member, I strongly urge you to join OMG, keeping in mind the efforts we are putting forth to solve the tax problem for you and the entire seller community.

If you have any questions, please let us know.  Thank you.
