For Immediate Release:
On March 18th, 2021, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania entered an order approving a Stipulation Agreement between the Online Merchants Guild and the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue in the case of Online Merchants Guild v. C. DANIEL HASSELL.
The Stipulation Agreement approved by the court addresses the 15-day deadline to respond to letters sent to Guild members from the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue.
At this time, we are proud to announce that the initial deadline to respond of 15 days has been extended until May 8th for active members of the Online Merchants Guild. Active members are defined as those who have donated a minimum of $100 to the Guild in the past 365 days. If you are not currently an active member of the Guild but would like to join, please visit this page on our website to get started.
The agreement also contains an accelerated timeline for the case, summarized below
- Department of Revenue’s response to our motion for Preliminary Injunction – due on or before: March 29, 2021.
- Online Merchant’s Guild reply to the response above – due on or before: April 12, 2021.
- Department of Revenue’s response to the Complaint – due on or before: May 3, 2021.
The combination of the accelerated timeline and extended deadline for OMG members is a win for us as it gives us the chance to have our case heard in court prior to the expiration of May 8th deadline. We look forward to continuing to fight on behalf of our members as well as the rest of the Ecommerce community.
